Typically one or more DVDs may install the package directly to the hard disk or the entire course may be run from the DVD itself.
Example: Learning a foreign language from home.
The course is offered as a set of DVDs. Once they arrive, you install each part of the course as you need to. A good course may include the following features
- Clearly written, well laid out text base lessons that the student reads from the screen
- Video lecture you can see and listen to a person.
- Audio features such as sound clips providing examples of spoken language
- Video material showing people speaking in specific scenarios - restaurant, work etc
- Plenty of written exercises for the student to undertake using keyboard and screen
- Quizzes and puzzles to help make it a bit more fun
- Glossaries and summaries of key points
