The alternative school prospectus

When new students are thinking about coming to your school, they are usually given a school prospectus.

This prospectus is often a glossy, high quality brochure filled with pictures of happy, perfectly dressed students. There will be many pages of information about how well the school is doing and all of the things on offer such as extra curricular activities.

The prospectus is really made for the parents. It doesn't answer the kind of questions that new Year 7s are really interested in such as:

  • 'What is the canteen food really like?'
  • 'Are the teachers nice?'
  • 'Are the lessons hard?'
  • 'Will I get lost around school?'
  • 'Can I wear make up?'

Your Task

Choose a suitable piece of software and produce an 'alternative prospectus' for the new Year 7 students.

Think about the kinds of questions that you really wanted answered before you came to the school. What were you really concerned about? what did you really want to know about?

Try to make the alternative prospectus fun, bright and cheerful.

Think carefully about your layout, images, fonts and colours.
