1. Introduction

This section will introduce you to 'computer architecture', which describes an overall concept of how the computer is put together without regard to the actual hardware.

The most popular form is the Von Neumann architecture, which will be described. But it does come with some limitations. And so other ideas have also been developed such as the Harvard architecture.

We will also be discussing other techniques that chip makers use to improve the performance of a modern CPU.
