VGA

Short for Video Graphics Array.

VGA is a standard screen resolution of 640x480 pixels. It was developed in 1987 and now very few computers run at this low resolution.

As almost all monitors and graphics cards can display this low resolution, VGA is often used by system utilities that allow you to alter display settings or do a 'system restore'. For example Windows 'safe mode' runs at this resolution.

The VGA connector on the computer is a 15 pin socket with a blue plastic insert.
