Systems Development

Systems are made up of individual parts that interact with one another. The system itself also interacts with the outside world.

System development is the work undertaken to create a new system from scratch or to modify an existing system.

The simplest (and worst) way to develop a system is to sit down without any plan whatsoever and start coding or putting it together. This will most likely end up either as 'spaghetti code' if it is software or the final system simply does not do what the client wanted.

So, to improve on this, many methods have been devised to make success a bit more certain. A very significant method is called 'System Life Cycle'. This is explained on the teach-ict.com web site in some detail.
