Power Supply Unit (PSU)

There is a PSU inside every computer that provides its power.

A mains powered PSU has a cooling fan at the back and a mains socket for the power cable to go into. It normally has an On/Off switch.

PSU are described by their power level. For example a typical computer PSU might be 400 Watts. If you want to run powerful graphics cards, then the PSU may have to go up to 700 or 800 Watts to cope with the demand.
