IP

Part of an important network protocol called TCP/IP that is used to control data moving through the Internet.

IP stands for Internet Protocol.

The IP half of the protocol is responsible for moving data from one part of the network to another. Each packet of data has a destination IP address that looks something like this:-

82.165.39.154

Every computer or device connected to the Internet has an IP address.
