FAST

Short for Federation Against Software Theft.

This is a British trade organisation that was created back in 1984 by the British Computer Society to discourage businesses from running unlicenced (unpaid-for) software.

It is not a police body or part of government. It tries to make companies aware of their copyright obligations. It also has contacts with schools and Universities to help raise awareness of the piracy issue.

An example of copyright infringment might be a firm who has paid for a 20-user licence but is now allowing a 100 users to use the software.
