Short for 'Demonstration Version'. Another name is 'Trial Version'.
This is a restricted version of a software application, created to allow potental customers to try it out before buying.
The restriction is often a time limit, for example after 30 days it stops working.
Sometimes important features are removed such as Print or Export and other times a 'watermark' may be inserted into whatever output the software creates.
