Banner Advert

A web page term.

Short for Banner Advertisement. A banner advert is located in a rectangular area at the top of a web page.

The advertising industry has now settled on standard advertising sizes for banner ads. A full banner is 468 x 60 pixels. A half-banner is 234 x 60 pixels

There are many other standard advertising shapes that inlcude Leader board, Skyscrapers, Buttons, Rectangles and Pop-ups.
