Create a pop video

Materials needed

• A camcorders or Digital Blue cameras
• Student selected props/costumes
• Selection of pop videos to watch
• Audacity or other sound editing software

This project will take several weeks to complete.

Plan

• Introduce the project to the students
• Watch a selection of short clips from a range of music videos.
• Brainstorm some of the techniques used in the videos.
• Discuss the use of storyboards and the need to plan
• Students should work in small groups and choose a song that they wish to record.
• As a group, they should storyboard the video that they want to create. They should include props and costumes in the plan and ensure that they can create/source the props.
• Once the plan is complete, students can begin filming their video.
• When they are happy with their filming, they can begin editing the footage using video editing software.
• Audacity or other sound editing software should be used to edit the sound track.
• One or two sessions of computer club could be used to view other student's work.
