Celebdaq
It's a virtual stock market run by the BBC (good parent acceptance), but instead of trading company shares, you trade celebrity shares.
The share prices are governed by demand (as normal shares are) but the weekly dividend is calculated according to the amount of newspaper coverage that celebrity gets in any particular week (somebody actually measures column inches!!)
You have to register to play, so you may need each pupil to have their own email accounts. Once registered you are given your first £10,000 to spend on whoever you want. The key is predicting who will be in the papers before everyone else realises it and the share price goes up.
Lots of scope for researching celebs and finding out what they are currently doing to see if they will make the news.
