| Record labels and artists can easily make money from concerts and live shows. Popstars are losing thousands of dollars but look at the millions they have already. People are getting greedy and commercial. If they're real artists they wouldn't care about the money, just the fact that they have the privelige to make a living out of music, which is the dream of millions of kids around the world. Music is for listening to, not for paying for. When will the richer stop getting so greedy?

While it is providing free conetent that people are downloading is providing publicity for bands it is also morally wrong as it is a form of stealing, and remember its not Just music people are sharing anymore
However with stuff like Video Game soundtracks or soundtracks from anime it could be considered okay becuase content for them outside of Japan is near impossible to find

Almost everyone i know DL's loads of tracks before they buy the CD but in the end they always buy the CD. £109K is a stupid amount of money for DL'ing a couple of tracks. Record labels make loads of money from gig goers and band merchendise anyway so who gives a toss if people DL music.

| It's hard to cry over the fat cats, they just **** on everyone below them to make a small profit anyway. Also, sharing music can really open your mind to new types of music, things you might neve have heard before. On one hand, it can act as advertisement for a band if they release an album online but on the other it could reflect badly on a band's sales. If done sparingly, this could be a great way to expand your horizons.

| I think sharing music files is ok as long as you don't depend of it for lots of music. People will still buy records, not everyone has a computer or ability to share and download. Artists make millions from downloads and cds, a few people sharing wont make that much of a difference to multi-millionaire companies.
