Work, Employment and ICT Lesson Ideas

Worksheet 1

This task asks students to investigate the effects that ICT has had upon the world of work and employment.

They need to answer a series of questions in order to build up a picture of how things have changed.

Worksheet 2

This task asks students to investigate the phenomenon that is teleworking. They are expected to be able to define the term and recognise the advantages and disadvantages to both the employer and employee.

Worksheet 3

This worksheet asks students to research recent news stories about ict and work which have been reported on in the news.

Students are asked to read at least three current news stories, answer a set of questions and then report their findings back to the class.

Useful to ensure that students get an idea of the use of ict in work and employment in a real life context
