4.Sources of graphics source of graphics

Graphics can be obtained from various places. The main ones are:

- Clipart

- Internet - Google images, flickr and other photo sharing sites

- CDs/DVDs

- Digital camera

- Hand drawn images (scanned in)

- Magazines (scanned in)

NOTE: A scanner is NOT a source of graphics, it is a device for importing a graphic from paper into the computer.

You own the copyright to the image

Camera must be purchased

Software required to download images from camera to computer

Limited to places you can physically visit

May not have the skill to get a high quality photograph

Magazines, books, hand drawn

Can get the exact graphic required

Loss of colour and definition

Limited to A4 pages or size of scanner

Cannot manipulate the image
