4. Computer Aided Design (CAD)

When computers became cheaper and more readily available, software began to be developed to make the process of drawing designs much easier.

The software became known as ‘Computer Aided Design’. 

Skill was still needed to design objects using the software, but the software made things much easier.  Lines could be shortened, lengthened, deleted or rotated at the click of a mouse button.  Different designs could be tried out very quickly to see the effect of changing things about and the designs could be rotated and viewed from different angles.
