Competition Brief
Design a Mnemonic to help students remember an ICT concept.
WinnerPatelstafromBrigshaw SchoolPatelsta wins £30 of High Street VouchersThis entry was chosen because many students find the OSI model hard to remember and in particular the correct order of the seven layers. Patelsta's mnemonic is cleverly written and catchy enough to remember. |

Highly CommendedPaudie fromSouthern Regional CollegeThis is not strictly speaking a mnemonic but we thought it was extremely well written and highlighted the key points about Health and Safety in the ICT classroom. |
Hide cables to avoid accidents. Eating is not permitted in class Assistants may need to help out. Lighting of room should be set at a certain brightness. Tell someone if you have an accident. Health and safety is important in any class + Seating must be comfortable Area must be kept tidy at all times. Fire extinguishers should be kept near by incase of a fire. Exit the class in an orderly fashion Tidy your things away after use. You must not run in the class otherwise someone will get hurt. |
Highly CommendedC8lin fromBishops Castle Community CollegeAlthough this mnemonic wouldn't help you with your GCSEs, we thought it provided a really good insight into what the teach-ict website is about. |
