1. Introduction

The OCR syllabus states that you must be able to describe the purpose and characteristics of wizards, style sheets, templates and macros.

Although you will be familiar with most of these names and you will no doubt have used these in many different software applications, when it comes to answering an exam question, something so apparently straightforward can easily leave you stumped.

We will look at each of these four things in turn. Make sure that you can explain what each of them are, give reasons for their use, give examples of their use, identify their characteristics, and finally, identify some of the known problems with using them.
