4. Using GPS
GPS was invented by the USA military so that troops could find their way through thick Jungle and empty desserts. Places where there are no landmarks to help you find your way.
But gradually, civilian scientist started using the technology for their work in remote places.

These days all kinds of people can make use of GPS: Farmers, Soldiers, Pilots, Surveyors, Hikers, Delivery drivers, Sailors, Dispatchers,Lumberjacks, Fire-fighters,
People from many other walks of life are using GPS in ways that make their work more productive, safer, and sometimes even easier.
In this section you will see a few examples of real-world applications of GPS. These applications fall into five broad categories.
- Location - Knowing where you are right now.
- Navigation - Getting from one place to another
- Tracking - monitoring the movement of people and things
- Mapping - creating all kinds of maps.
- Timing - allowing events to be measured very accurately.
