"Will computers replace teachers?" - A debate

I split the class into two halves and ran a debate as part of this topic.

The title was 'Will computers ever replace teachers in the classroom'.

I prepared a set statements covering both sides of the argument and gave each team the correct set. They were given 10 minutes to prepare their case. They did not see the other team's statements during this preperation time.

This was an incredibly successful lesson. The statements gave the students a starting point, but they quickly developed their own arguments to fuel the debate.
